Baby news

Yesterday I had a Dr appt and I actually met with Dr.Dietsa this time instead of the nurse practitioner (who I also really like). He reassured me to take my asthma inhaler (Advair) on a regular basis as to keep my O2 content 100%. I also told him about the bad headaches and cramping that I've had. He said to take Tylenol at the first sign of pain to prevent severe pain over time. I told him I had avoided taking anything; his response, "Don't be a hero, take Tylenol." So, last night when I woke up with a headache, I took a Tylenol and slept like a rock for the next six hours. I feel like a new woman today! I am finally headache free for the first time in almost a week.

Back to the Dr appt: the doctor used a doppler to detect the baby's heartbeat a measure the bpm. I was getting nervous because it took forever (OK, maybe a minute) for him to find the heartbeat. I think we were both getting pretty worried. He finally found it in the very right corner of the uterus, sounding like woosh-woosh-woosh and beating at a healthy 151 bpm! I think the baby was hiding because I have been blaming him/her for all my pains. I had even pointed at my belly and said, "Bad baby!" on Wednesday when I left work early due to bad cramps... I'm sorry baby. I love you~

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.
